Eminem

One of the most controversial rappers of 21st century, Eminem has left a long-lasting impression in the music and film industry. The star was born 1972 in Saint Joseph Missouri as Marshall Bruce Matters 3rd and is more known for his artistic name Eminem.

Best selling artist at the start of the second millennium, Eminem has took over United States and conscientiously the world. He released his first album in 1996 called “Infinite”, but has gained world-fame in 1999 with the EP release of The Slim Shady.

Not only did Eminem gained mainstream fame because of Slim Shady, he also won his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for it.

Eminem rose to glory in the year 2000 with the release of the The Marshall Mathers LP and only two years later in 2002 with The Eminem Show, gaining world-fame and recognition as one of the most controversial rappers in history. He dived into other waters and created Shady Records in 1999 and his own radio channel Shade 45, known for being censor-free and promoting any new hip-hop artist and their work.

Eminem surprised the fans when in 2002 he starred in a movie 8 Mile as the lead character. The movie was a huge success winning him the Academy Award for Best Original Song “Lose Yourself” that was written for the movie. The movie showcases Eminem’s turbulent life as a young man and his rise to discovering his talents and gaining popularity. Eminem was the first rapper to achieve this award.

Eminem release “Encore” in 2004 and was a huge success, but had suffered many complaints against it because of the music video. The music video for Just Lose It made fun of Michael Jackson, Madonna, MC Hammer and other famous superstars which gave Eminem a hard-time.

Eminem has stated the possible release of his next album “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” in 2012, but without a specific date given. It quickly became one of the most expected albums on MTV, Complex Magazine and XXL.

This would be Eminem’s 8th album and was supposed to be released some time after Memorial Day while it was announced on 2013 MTV Video Music Awards that the album would carry the name The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (continuation of the original Marshall Mathers LP).
