Croatia’s long Roman heritage left behind many breathtaking riches. The country itself doesn’t really stand out but the cities like Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Pula or Poreč are all like living and breathing museums. Pula for instance has the best preserved amphitheater from Roman times which is still being used for concerts. Split has an amazing Diocletian’s Palace, a structure so large, that over 3.000 people still live in houses within its remains. And, of course, the famous Dubrovnik.

The best and most famous locations to look for sunshine, excitement and beaches are Croatia’s islands, like Brač, Korčula, Krk, Hvar and many others. And for fans of Medditerian who wish to distance themselves from summer resorts, coastal towns like Umag, Poreč, Pula, Crikvenica and smaller fishing villages are great as their charm hasn’t changed for centuries.
