Adele

Adele is one of the most influential female singers of our time. With hits like “Someone Like You” she has taken over the world and continues to do so with her new album 25 which was one of the most awaited albums of all time.

Born in 1988 in London, Adele was an only child in the family. Her mother encouraged and supported her to try out various things. It didn’t take long for her to develop a close relationship with music, especially Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and Destiny’s Child.

Adele attended the British School for Performing Arts & Technology, the same school Amy Winehouse was expelled from. Just a few months after Adele finished school, leading people at the XL Recordings heard the tracks she composed for a school project and invited her to sign a record deal.

A new take on music

Her first album was named “19”, named after the singers age at that time, came out in 2008. The songs “Hometown Glory and “Chasing Pavements” propelled Adele to world renowned fame.

She gained fame in America and her album took the first place in less then a day from release. She won over peoples hearts with her second album “21” in 2011, again named after the artists current age at that time. The album was insanely popular as it sold in over 30 countries and made its way into the Guinness World Records as the best selling album of 21st century.

Adele didn’t stop making great hits and in 2012 took home 6 prizes. Her number one hit song “Set Fire to the Rain” brought her her 7th Grammy as “Best Pop Solo Performance”.

Her album 25, was released in November 2015, and her song “Hello” set the world on fire, and the song remained number.1 for many weeks on UK charts.
