The second largest city in Hungary is called Debrecen. It has a population of over 200.000 people, and is also the cultural center of the country. Geographical position is close to the border with Romania on eastern side of the Hungary and was important even in the times of the Roman empire. Later it was an important trade center and in the mid of the 19th century even a capital of Hungary for some time.
